New NYC show with Hot Water Music

Posted May 29, 2008 9:10 AM by JNAR
Hey all-

We're excited to announce an amazing show we will be
playing in NYC this summer. On July
12th, at Terminal 5, we're co-headlining
a show with the legendary Hot Water Music.
This band was one of the main influences on us when we started Thursday. Seeing their shows at the church in Philly
and the melody bar in New Brunswick provided a the spark for us that we still
hold close to our hearts. We're also
happy to be playing our first show in Manhattan in two years. Throw on one of the most consistently awesome
hardcore bands around today- Paint It Black- - and this show is a dream come
true for us.

Can't wait to see you there,

Geoff & Thursday

Announce Last Minute Addition to Belgium's Groezrock Festival and First Ever Performance in the Philippines!

Thursday has just announced they've accepted a last minute offer to perform at this year's Groezrock Festival in Belgium! Taking place this weekend, the band would be replacing Good Charlotte on the bill, and perform alongside Bad Religion, Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, Cursed, Face to Face, Sick of It All, Agnostic Front, Anti-Flag, The Loved Ones,
and many more! In addition, the band has been welcomed to perform in
the Philippines for the first time in the band's career, at the
country's annual Kaogma Festival at the end of this month... From the band:

Hey all-

We are currently packing our bags for a last minute trip to Belgium, replacing Good Charlotte on this year's amazing Groezrock Festival (where we get to play alongside some of our favorite bands), as well as a tour of the Philippines! It's an honor and a pleasure to be asked to perform at Groezrock, as well as be the first American band asked to play The Kagoma Festival. We've received many letters from listeners in Manila, Quezon and other areas for many years. To all of you- - WE CAN'T WAIT TO
FINALLY MEET YOU!!!! Our friend, Manny, will be coming with us to lend a little fill-in bass-guitar action.

See you soon,
Thursday

Joining the band on the trek to the Philippines will be bassist Manuel Carrero of the bands Glassjaw, Stillsuit, and currently, Saves The Day.

Full details of Thursday performances overseas:

Saturday May 10 at Groezrock Festival in Meerhout, Belgium w/ Bad Religion, Sick of It All, Face to Face, Agnostic Front, Cursed, The
Loved Ones, Horse The Band, No Fun At All, 59 Times The Pain, and more!
www.pulpcommunity.com in the Philippines (May 27, 1569). The culmination of the week's
festivities is a massive concert that is free to the public. Until now, all performances have been top artists from Manila and Cebu, the
capital and the second largest city in the Philippines. Thursday will be the first US band to play the festival. From the promoter: “The Koagma is a centuries old festival celebrating the founding of Camarines Sur... about 450 years ago. Only Philippine based artists have performed. Thursday
will be the first foreign artist ever. Music history in the works.”

SPLIT WITH ENVY

Posted Apr 1, 2008 10:00 PM by JNAR
Hello All-

It's our pleasure to announce a split release with one of our favorite bands in the world.  We are currently in the studio recording tracks for a 12" release with Japan's Envy.  For those of you unfamiliar with Envy, they are an experimental, epic, lush post-rock band that's heavier than just about anything we've ever heard.  Despite the enormous geographical distances between us, the bands have evolved from the same thrashy underground post-hardcore scene (They've toured the states and shared stages with our friends in Malady and Hot Cross).  Honestly, there's no way to properly describe them.  See for yourself:  http://www.temporaryresidence.com/bands/envy.php

The record will be released on Temporary Residence Limited.  They're the folks who put out all those killer records by Explosions In the Sky, Mono, By the End of Tonight and, of course, Envy.  We love those records and, even more importantly, we love everyone who works at the label! http://www.temporaryresidence.com/

We'll be playing some of this new material out on a weekend of dates that are coming up:

April 24 The Chance Poughkeepsie, NY with Envy on the Coast, Innerpartysystem, God Fires Man April
25 Chameleon Club Lancaster, PA with Envy on the Coast, God Fires Man April 26 Montclair State University Montclair, NJ Montclairfest

This sweet press release from Temporary Residence has the details for the split:

THURSDAY AND ENVY ANNOUNCE SPLIT ALBUM!!!

We've decided to convert rumor into fact and lay it all out for all you good peoples. New Jersey's Thursday and Old Tokyo's Envy will come together to release a split LP+CD this fall, released by Temporary Residence Ltd. It will be a limited edition LP CD set; there will be no separated CD or LP versions. Both formats will come in one package, and both will contain the same music. This means it may not be available in Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, or most 'record' stores in the mall. But it will certainly be available at your local independently owned record store, while supplies last. We're not yet sure how limited it will be; maybe 10,000, maybe a billion (probably closer to the former, as we really don't have space for a billion LPs). In addition, there will be a deluxe, hand-printed edition that will be sold exclusively through our webstore. These will be screenprinted by hand, and will be limited colored vinyl editions. There is no specific release date set yet, but look for this around Sep/Oct.
